Our primary aim is to resurrect departmental cricket. The governments of India and Pakistan must be consulted.

Najam Sethi expressed his opinions on the bilateral cricketing relations between Pakistan and India in his first official act as the newly appointed chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Sethi took over the PCB after Ramiz Raja was let go on Thursday. The 14-member committee in charge of organising Pakistan's cricket endeavours during the ensuing four months has appointed Sethi as its chairman.
Regarding cricket relations, the Governments of India and Pakistan Must Be Consulted
The BCCI and PCB have been at differences ever since ACC chairman and BCCI
secretary Jay Shah said that India won't travel to Pakistan for next year's Asia Cup and that the event will be transferred to a neutral location. As a serious form of retaliation, Raja had threatened to postpone the ODI World Cup, which was scheduled to take place in India in the second half of 2023.
When it comes to bilateral and other cricket connections between Pakistan and India, the governments of both nations must be consulted, Sethi told reporters in Lahore.
Sethi, who served as chairman and CEO from 2013 to 2018 before stepping down when the Imran Khan-led government came into office in 2018, seemed dissatisfied with the choice of the Pakistan Test side for the domestic series against New Zealand.
"I'm not sure if there needs to be a change in the squad; we'll see if new approaches are needed. If the squad hadn't been revealed, that would have been preferable, he claimed.
Ramiz Raja was dismissed as a result of the management committee being formally established by the administration on Wednesday night. The current head selector Muhammad Wasim did, however, declare the team for the NZ series.
The resuscitation of departmental cricket is our primary priority. Najam Sethi
Sethi was very clear in saying that the Board would go through adjustments, particularly with reference to cricket.
I thought we had done a lot during our four to five years together until I resigned. However, everyone is aware of what has occurred over the previous four years," he added.
Sethi claimed that the nation's prime leader wanted to revive departmental and regional cricket leagues.
Reviving departmental cricket is our top goal due to the significant rise in unemployment and lack of cricket talent over the past four years. The earlier approach, which worked effectively for us, allowed us to use players from domestic cricket. It seems like we just hire PSL players these days," he observed.
