Hackers offered for sale on the dark web the personal information of more than 40 million Twitter users worldwide.

Today, it is not a big problem if a significant organization's website gets hacked, their bank account is compromised, or their social media or video tapes are exposed.

There isn't a week that goes by when hackers don't dump enormous amounts of data onto the dark web from a server. On December 23, hackers stole the information of more than 400 million Twitter users and posted it as "for sale" on the dark web.

The emails and telephone numbers of a number of prominent people, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Bollywood actor Salman Khan, and India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, are among the information that hackers have put up for sale on the dark web.

Hackers have threatened Twitter management with buying the data themselves, or they have already offered to sell the data, if they want to escape fines from governments all around the world.

The data was allegedly obtained by hackers between the years 2021 to 2022, according to them.

IT professionals were cited in foreign media publications as claiming that a server issue occurred on Twitter in 2021.

On the other hand, the Twitter administration has not yet confirmed or denied this.

The dark web: what is it?

Even the intelligence services of the biggest countries in the world find it difficult to reach this section of the Internet world, known as the "dark web," which is inaccessible to the average Internet user.

Dark web a market where not only women, drugs, and guns are purchased and sold, but also sex crime footage, private information, and data.
